Dr. Salmon is a board-certified oral surgeon in Memphis, TN. He was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, and completed his undergraduate degree at The University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry in Jackson, MS. After dental school, Dr. Salmon elected to continue his training by specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, where he completed a six-year, dual-degree residency program and was awarded his certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as his medical degree. This six-year, intensive residency included immersive training in multiple facets of medicine and surgery, including general surgery, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, ENT, and a significant anesthesiology component. It is this level of comprehensive training that gives Dr. Salmon the highest qualifications to perform inpatient and outpatient oral and maxillofacial surgery and IV sedation.

Dr. Salmon is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the TSOMS, TDA, ADA, and Memphis Dental Society. He currently holds staff privileges at Regional One Health Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Methodist-Le Bonheur Memphis Hospitals, and is also an associate professor at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he teaches dental students and oral surgery residents. He maintains active certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Dr. Salmon lives here in Memphis with his wife, Bailey, and their three children, Adams, Wiley, and Camille. Outside of work he enjoys attending Independent Presbyterian Church, running, golf, traveling with his family, and cheering for the Ole Miss Rebels!
